If you try to open PDF file in the Browser in SharePoint Server 2010 you will not able to open it by default in the browser just you have an option to save a PDF file like the below images

I tried the above solution in two different environment so the first environment just I changed the settings in General Settings of Web application and it's work fine and second environment it does work like first environment except I have to run the power shell code.
